Bancnet

I have been always fascinated with banks because both my parents have a background in banking. Ever since i was a kid I've seen myself doing also the same thing but with the current degree i'm taking, a future in banking seemed blurry. I had this idea that i may not have a future in the banking industry, but soon enough i was proved wrong.

With the most recent company visit, the industry that would really like to be in was tapped. we went into Bancnet. With the set-up Bancnet was in, i was able to see the relevance of what my college degree can do in an industry such as banking and how technology can play a role in the different function of banking.

Bancnet specifically showed us how they cater to the needs of hundreds and hundreds of banks, how they provide ATM services as well as switches which connects bank transactions across partners.

After telling us what Bancnet does, we went around to see the action that happens inside their office. We saw people behind their desk tinkering with their computers. There was also a demonstration of how an ATM machine works.

Networklabs

NetworkLabs is a one of its kind research and development (R&D) center in Asia that is internationally recognized in the telecommunications industry. With its Philippine Economic Zone Authority accreditation and its potential to become the 4G/LTE telecommunications radio center-of-excellence in the region, NetworkLabs expects to promote and strengthen the Philippine IT sector by taking the lead in making significant investment in the country and pioneer in a Silicon-Valley like environment where IT incubation start-up companies provide new and innovative software solutions. 

NetworkLabs is directly involved in research work and software development for 3G and 4G radio communication networks for NSN.

The NetwrokLabs tour started off with a short intro on the company by a La Salle graduate and then described his work. questions were then entertained about what he does more. 

Then the formal introduction of what NetworkLabs really is was done and then went on with the tour of the whole work area.

DIGITAL CAREERS TALK

The digital careers talk was held at AIM at (date.) there were several speakers from different industries that has experience or work related to digital.

So what is digital? Digital Involves or relates to the use of computer technology: "the digital revolution".

The first speaker was mr. Ople, he talked about how his background in digital and how he began with gaming(level up games). He then emphasized on social media and it's impact on the philippines, specifically friendster

The next speaker talked about group buying sites such as groupon and specifially cashcash pinoy. The french speaker talked about how it works and how group buying sites grew in different parts of the world and in the philippines.

the other speaker was in the field of analytics and discussed how powerful information is and how jobs regarding this field is a great career 

Brady Philippines

Brady manila is an in-house contact center and support services arm of BRADY Corporation, an international manufacturer and marketer of complete solutions that identify and protect premises, products and people. Its products help customers increase safety, security, productivity and performance and include high-performance labels and signs, safety devices, printing systems and software, and precision die-cut materials.


The company tour started out with our speaker mr. Allan Goh an IT Infrastructure Manager from Singapore that discussed what the industry is all about in Brady's field and the concepts used in how Brady operates.

After the presentation, we were toured around the office and showed us how the work environment is, specifically the culture and how work is done in Brady.
