how things were

Life for kids is much simpler compared to how we view things now that we're more like adults. Simple things make kids happy like a piece of candy or a new toy. But for adults, having everything they've ever asked for might not even be enough. They simply want more. I miss being a kid because each day that i wake-up  from sleep, i would remember less and less of how things were when we were kids.

There are only a few childhood memories that i can remember, maybe because these specific events in my life made an impact. The most memorable one was when I was five and it was the day my mom brought my baby brother home. I can recall the time where it all happened. I was left at home with our house helpers not knowing that my parents were gone because they had to go to the hospital. I just thought that it was a regular day with my dad at work and my mom taking care of stuff for the house. So i just waited at home, knowing that they'll be back in no time. But I was wrong. They didn't come home as i expected, so i started asking how come my parents aren't still home. No one answered my questions. i was stuck at home not knowing what was going on. the next day came and to my surprise my mom came in with a small baby in here arms. I was screaming out of joy and I was yelling "I have a baby brother!!" over and over again. I then realized that i was gonna be a kuya.

These kinds of memories are the ones that i would remember forever and the ones that really made a difference in my life. My brother and I usually fight almost about everything, but i hope that when he comes across this, he would give me a hug and realize how I love him.
