How YouTube "changed" our lives

The internet houses different kinds of websites that cater to different needs; Facebook for social networking, Google for searching, twitter for micro-blogging and of course YouTube for online videos.YouTube is able host videos on almost about anything that can be made into a video and everything that has of value. YouTube has literally "changed" the course of life for most people. One example of this would be the unsigned artists that uses YouTube to showcase their talents to the rest of the world. Being able to show what you can do to the entire world can land you record deals, jobs and even love.

Now, people who have access to the internet are able to use YouTube to learn, to be entertained and to be aware of what is happening around us. With these things that YouTube is able to do, people will now be equipped with information that can help society. But how does YouTube really help us? In what ways? Does it even give us benefits more than disadvantages? I can bluntly say that there aren't that much of disadvantages compared to the benefits YouTube has exemplified through the years. One major advantage is the capability of YouTube to be used in academic institutions and homes for learning. This website is used by students and scholars form all over the world to share and obtain information also as an alternative for books and online material(texts). This ensures that students will be able to grasp the data better compared to reading it over and over again.

Of course, YouTube will go under changes through the years, maybe in the format or method of sharing videos or maybe the interface or how it looks like. In ten years time, i can see that YouTube will not only be a tool used for sharing media(videos) but possibly be the ultimate tool for doing all sorts of things; as a platform for social media(social networking), as a Market place, basically all the essential functions that most websites offer.
